MUSLIM Free Hospital
Mission: to help the poor, the needy and the sick without discrimination of caste, creed or color
"When I came to Muslim Free Hospital, doctors and nurses' relation with patients is so warm and kind that I feel I am not helpless. This hospital, besides giving free treatment, it supplies food and clothing. This is the hospital for poor people like us and I thank them for everything they have done for us from the bottom of my heart"

About the Organization:
Some seventy-two years ago a group of civic-minded young men of Muslim Community keenly felt the need for free but competent health –care for the needy sick of all communities regardless of their race, class, or religion. Their selfless efforts bore fruit in the form of a modest dispensary which was officially opened on the 5th January 1937. The successive managements not only carried on the existing meritorious work but also improved and gradually expanded its services. It has become a veritable source of help and hope for the needy sick of all communities. It now has the following units: medical, obstetrics & gynecology, eye, and surgical. These several units have their corresponding Out-Patients Departments, which are attended on average by 400 patients a day. This hospital is famous all over the country as an "eye" hospital because most of the leading Eye Specialists of the country had worked here. Its location right in the centre of the city of Yangon makes it easily accessible to a large area and population. It is a non-sectarian, humanitarian, charitable hospital open to the poor of all communities. It has no affiliation with any other organization.
The Muslim Free Hospital was established as a small dispensary in 1937 in Rangoon, Burma and gradually it has come up to the present status of a 160 bedded hospital.
