American Center
The American Center, a subset of the United States Embassy in Rangoon (Yangon), Burma, serves to bridge the gap between Burma and the U.S. via cultural, educational, and other informational programs.

The Baldwin Library
Named after one of the most influential writers of the 20th Century, the Baldwin Library boasts of over 18,000 library materials with a special focus on the social sciences; however, there is a wealth of various types of knowledge available as well, from computer science to finance studies. Similar to libraries in the U.S., the Baldwin center offers multi-media material: books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and journals.
Community Involvement:

Community Involvement:
- Book Club: A group formed to foster discussion amongst writers and members of the Library. A creative way for members to learn about American literature and public figures in American history among other things. The Baldwin Library Book Club has been gathering once every last Wednesday of the month since January of 2008.
- Youth Forum: Monthly get-together in which a key note speaker shares experiences and advice with youth from the community on a pre-specified topic.
- Book Lockers: Method by which the Library can reach out to institutions in regions outside of Rangoon (Yangon) and loan material.
- Book Exhibits: The Baldwin Library makes available exhibits of books at public events.
English Classes
The American Center offers classes in the English Language. The levels of classes vary and aim to improve students' grasp of speaking, writing, listening and reading as well as critical thinking.

The American Center also does much to provide information and engage the public in issues of foreign affairs along with weekly updates in American news.
